Clothes swapping is a great way to update your wardrobe with minimal environmental impact. In March, TRAID popped by the Clothes Club, the brain child of Emily de Groot, who runs swapping events to fundraise for local causes.

This time, all the proceeds went to the Hackney Pirates – a great after school club for local young people who need a little extra support with their numeracy and literacy. AND, all the clothes left over after the swap were donated to TRAID as part of an on-going partnership with the Clothes Club.

After the swap, TRAID helped out with the raffle which included fab prizes of a £50 voucher for Street Feast and a stunning Marc Jacobs bag. At the end of the raffle there was a surprise twist with the winner of the Marc Jacobs bag declaring she’d much prefer the food vouchers!! The room gasped! Especially the woman that had the vouchers but desperately wanted the bag who couldn’t believe her luck!

Look! So happy with her new Marc Jacob’s bag! One person’s trash is another person’s treasure.
