On a rainy Wednesday afternoon in February the TRAID education team took pupils from Swiss Cottage School on a tour of our Camden charity shop.
They were shown around by Camden’s shop manager Jose Baladron Toledo who answered lots of questions about how to run a successful charity shop.
Swiss Cottage School specialises in working with young people with complex needs and difficulties, and TRAID has worked closely with the school for a number of year. They also have a TRAID clothes donations bank helping us to stop unwanted clothes from going to waste.
Last year we worked with students to make up-cycled bags to send to their sister school in Ghana.
Following this visit to our Camden shop we have been running workshops at the school, launched on World Autism Day (April 2), to up-cycle cushions from textile waste for the common room in the school!
